Conferences will still take place from 4:00–7:00 PM as usual.

🍴✨ Cleaning out your kitchen or junk drawers this summer? Don’t toss those extra utensils!
Our Life Skills class is looking for kitchen items you may have lying around: spoons, spatulas, peelers, measuring cups, you name it! These items won’t just be used for cooking, but also to help students grow their knowledge in tool identification and practical life skills. 🧠👩‍🍳
If it’s something you’d use in a kitchen, we can put it to great use! Thanks for helping us build a hands-on learning environment! 💛

Structure of Atom Lab
In science class, students explored the structure of atoms by building their own atom models. Using different materials to represent protons, neutrons, and electrons, they created a visual of how atoms are organized. The protons and neutrons were placed in the center to form the nucleus, while the electrons were shown moving around the nucleus in energy levels. This hands-on activity helped students see how the smallest building blocks of matter are put together and why each part of an atom is important.
Hand and Tendon Lab
In another class, students investigated how the tendons in our hands work to move our bones. Using a simple model of the hand with strings to represent tendons, they pulled on the strings to see how the fingers bent and straightened. This demonstrated the connection between muscles, tendons, and bones, and how they all work together to create movement. Students were able to connect the model back to their own hands, realizing how much teamwork happens inside the body just to wiggle a finger!
This week our classes got hands-on with science! 🧪 So fun to see science come to life! 👩‍🔬✋
